For New Haven’s 350th-anniversary festival coordinator Bob Gregson commissioned local experimental artist Bev Richey to design and create a birthday cake for New Haven's 350th birthday celebration.
Richey’s A-mazing Bureaucratic Birthday Cake (serving the People 3500 Pieces…) involved over 30 artists, activists, lawyers, civic administrators, all working together for more than 6 weeks of bureaucratic planning, designing, and constructing the concept to serve 3500 pieces of free cake on the New Haven Green in June 1988.
Join Jeff Burnett, Margaret Bodell, Roberta Chambers, Bitsie Clark, Nikila Cole, Mimsie Coleman, Bill Derry, Tim Feresten, Bob Gregson, John Landino, Bev Richey, Johnes Ruta, Amy Seham, and Mary Shiffer, for an A-mazing reunion as they share memories, stories, and lessons from the experience.
